| Can GolfAchiever be used outdoors? | Yes,
the GolfAchiever can be used outdoors. When using the GolfAchiever outdoors, it
is important to make sure that the unit is placed on level ground and that the
sun is not shining directly into the detectors on the base of the unit. Under
normal circumstances the GolfAchiever will perform accurately outdoors in the
sunshine. If the sun is low in the sky and behind the golfer, the unit may need
to be moved or shaded to avoid the over saturation of the base detectors by direct
sunlight. |
| I am using the GolfAchiever
outdoors. The ball did not land where GolfAchiever predicted... What are some
reasons for this? | 1. The GolfAchiever
has not been set up properly. GolfAchiever has been designed so that the system
will always know precisely where the ball starts (tee position). Any problems
with the set-up mean that the system will incorrectly calculate the ball’s starting
(tee) position, therefore, the assumptions will be off, and thus the results will
be erroneous. The most common set up problems include: - The mat is
not properly fastened to the L-Frame with the system's mat locators
- The tee
select in the software does not match what you are using on the GolfAchiever
- The
club selected in the software does not match the club you are using on the GolfAchiever
- The Physical Parameters in GolfAchiever software have been adjusted from the
default settings. Reset to the GolfAchiever default settings for the most accurate
results. It is important to note that GolfAchiever algorithms have been tuned
(and default settings derrived) after recording and analyzing tens of thousands
of shots hit from human and robot subjects of varying abilities. The GolfAchiever
Staff continues to press forward in working to improve on GolfAchiever accuracy.
Detailed accuracy reports can be found at www.golfachiever.com via the GA Technology

2. Environmental Factors cannot be completely accounted for
- wind, temperature, humidity, etc. are varying elements that greatly effect where
a flying golf ball will land. 3. The GolfAchiever, like all technologies,
has limitations in measurement and resulting calculations. Currently, there are
no golf technologies that completely measure all parameters of golf swing and
ball flight to predict landing area precisely - the technology may never become
available due to the costs and variables involved. While the GolfAchiever ball
speed, launch angle, and azimuth readings taken on the ball are perfectly precise,
there are further calculations that must be made in determining the path (vertically
and horizontally) of the clubhead, the vertical and horizontal positioning of
the club at impact (where the ball exactly struck the club-face), the speed of
the club at impact, and the club’s center of gravity/design. Each of these factors
is considered in the GolfAchiever algorithms, which perform the prediction of
where the ball will land. Depending upon the assumptions necessary in the calculations,
GolfAchiever results provide varying accuracy, depending upon the category. The
bullets below provide greater detail on the various levels of accuracy that can
be expected from the GolfAchiever. - Ball speed has an error rating
of less than 0.25%
- Launch Angle and Azimuth have an error rating of less than
0.1 degree
- Clubhead Speed mean deviation error is 3.68%
- Distance mean
deviation error is 4.06%
